The Bishop Museum has embarked on a comprehensive architectural renovation of its historic 120-year-old Hawaiian and Pacific Halls. Following the restoration and reinstallation of the Hawaiian Hall which reopened in 2009, the Museum has reinterpreted its Polynesian and Pacific collections with all new exhibitions. The Museum holds keystone collections and has made major contributions to the body of knowledge on Pacific origins and migration. In a restored Victorian-era gallery, the Museum showcases Polynesia’s past and present cultures. Opened 2013.
